So what’s all the fuss about the Traxxas Slash!?  Well the guys over at Traxxas have built a monster of a race truck and it’s 4×4 to boot!

Before I get into the nitty gritty of the Traxxas Slash 4×4 let me just say that I own this puppy, and I’ve been ripping it up at the local track for a couple months now. I can get it to go about 60 Mph on a good straight stretch.

Overview

First of all, if you’ve been on the fence about buying the Traxxas Slash, be it the 4×4 or the 2WD model - just go buy it or read our tips to buy rc cars and trucks online – you probably won’t be disappointed because it’s just such a great Short course RC truck. That said lets get on with it…

From an rc car racing perspective the Traxxas Slash is a dominator aside from the high center of gravity (battery and motor are sitting pretty high up). Even up against the other fast rc racing cars the Slash 4×4 holds it’s own. If you’re good enough at rc racing then you’re going to be able to pass other trucks at will.

The shocks on the Traxxas Slash are great and really suck up any bumps the track might throw at you. You’ll love the easy maintenance approach to the Traxxas Slash, all you do is remove 8 screws from the front of the vehicle and the back and you can get at all the internal parts.

You’re going to love the BF Goodrich RC car tires they have on the traxxas slash, these wheels have very great traction control for right out of the box RTR.

If you’re like most rc car enthusiasts you love to bash. Before I go on about bashing this baby, keep in mind after every bash session, make sure you are cleaning all debris, water, sand & dust etc.

The Traxxas slash is very fast out of the box and very durable so you know you’re going to have a great time showing the slash 4×4 off to your buddies. Most of the Traxxas Slash is waterproof or water-resistant, running it through snow and water is pretty fun.

The 2.4 GHz radio system is pretty sweet, it’s gotta wicked grip and it’s is very light, uses 4 AA rc car batteries. You get a wall charger, it takes about 4-6 hours to charge and you get about 10-20 minutes run time. Lots of people have been upgrading the rc car battery, you should probably look into doing the same.
